From collection SS2012 and onwards we have removed drawstrings from our hoods.
We designed, when the new safety standard was brought to our attention, decorative drawstrings with release function and drawstring ends with minimal resistance. This will prevent to get stuck in first place as well as release if accident in spite is actual.
We have tested the release function on children and also maximal seam strenght, both in movement but also static. The drawstring ends resistance is also tested. It shows the function works and minimize risk of getting stuck.
We are convinced they comply with the Product safety Act, the intention of EN 14682, but we also want to comply exactly with the wording in EN 14682 and be 100% sure our clothes will not be involved with any accidents.
Therefor we have started an action plan and short is 2 steps.
1. Remove all drawstrings from coming models.
2. To inform all retailers and customers how to update their older models to same standard as SS2012.
How to remove drawstrings:
Only tool needed is a standard par of scissors.
The drawstrings are attached in the drawstring opening by one seem.
Lift carefully the end of a drawstring and place a half opened par of scissors at bottom close to seam. Do not pull hard, only loose, and cut the drawstring. Very easy to do and instruct a customer to perform themselves.
All models SS2011 will have this look, and the cut drawstring will be a nice detail of white in the opening.

NOVA STAR continous to grow in both Sweden as well as abroad.
Greenland and Italy are new countries with stores on the map onwards.
We contininue to grow in all excisting countries and in Norway and Germany the growth is quickest in relation to excisting sales.
In Sweden it is hard to grew as fast as before, but the north of Sweden is getting stronger which is very pleasant.
Even more we enjoy the strong sales in Sweden and our stock is starting to run out in some sizes after just a week in store.

This is what NOVA STAR looks like at different fairs.
Helena is preparing for another day at Formex. 4 busy days…
Two fairs done in Germany. Euromoda in Neuss and KOMM in Wallau. Our agent have managed 2 out of 3 fairs, and then customer visits all over Germany awaits.

On the 10th of February we will leave for our big fairs at CPH Kids and CIFF Kids in Copenhagen…..

The new collection is soon to be shipped out to our retailers – during week 7 it will arrive to store nearby.
Opening samples of the final production sent by air, is like opening gifts on Christmas eve. You never know what you get, but always hope for the best…….
